Mrs. Helen Pauline Madden, 90, of Bartlesville, died at 9:44 A.M. on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Jane Philips Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Madden will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 with Pastor Sherman Jacquess of the Matoaka Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Ochelata Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Madden was born at Oglesby, Oklahoma on October 21, 1921 the daughter of James Monroe Virden and Parthina May (Overacker) Virden. She grew up south of Bartlesville in Washington County and attended schools in the Ramona area. She was married to Floyd B. Madden at Barnsdall on April 30, 1938. They made their home in Washington County south of Bartlesville. Mr. Madden had been active in ranching and was employed at the zinc smelter and Mrs. Madden was active as a homemaker. She liked to go to garage sales, estate sales and anything to do with her grandkids.
Mrs. Madden is survived by one son, Jim Madden and his wife Nancy of Bartlesville, one daughter, Connie Young and her husband LeRoy of Bartlesville, one brother, Kenneth Virden of Bartlesville, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd B. Madden, one son, Charles Stanley Madden and his wife, Wanda, a grandson, James Michael Madden, five brothers, Bob, Raymond, Monroe, Harm and Junior Virden and one sister, Joanne Martin.
