DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Kimberly Dawn Ivie, 43, lifelong area resident, died Saturday in Zion, Illinois, after battling against cancer.

Kim joins her father Donnie Ray Werts in heaven but will be greatly missed on earth by her loving husband Kenneth of the home; mother Linda Werts of Bartlesville; four beloved children, Keeleigh, Kollin, Kenadee and Kamryn; one brother Donny Werts and Melissa, one nephew D.J. Werts, all of Bartlesville; and a host of family and friends.

Kimberly was born the daughter of Donnie Ray and Linda Sue (Shull) Werts on Sept. 2, 1974, in Bartlesville. At Bartlesville Public Schools, she was active in many programs, including the Bruin Brigade (band). Kim graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1992 and went to work at the mall. She worked at Corn Dog 7, Classic Pets and the Burger Hop before starting her 21-year career with Wal-Mart, most recently working as a claims supervisor. Kim met Kenneth at Red Apple Bowling Center in 1995 and just after her 22nd birthday, they were united in marriage on Sept. 6, 1996, at Virginia Ave. Baptist Church. They were blessed with four beautiful children and made their home in Bartlesville until Kim convinced Kenneth they should live in the country so in 2002 they moved to their land in Nowata.

Kimberly was a go-getter and a doer. She was instrumental in approaching Kane Elementary principal Beth Cook and working out a plan to take an aerial photograph of the Kane students spelling “Bartlesville Loves Mickey” which won a special contest for Disney to bring their Independence Day parade to communities across America in 2000.

Kim loved her children and was active in their many sporting events and activities. She loved her coworkers and often organized everyone to help one another when they faced troubling times. She adored animals and had many pets over the years including her horses, dogs, cats, ferrets and many more. She received the Key to the City of Nowata for her efforts in donating pet food to the local shelter.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10-8 and Friday 10-12. Kim’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Thursday, Jan. 4, from 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Virginia Ave. Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Adams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ochelata Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Kim’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
