Herrington, Aleta May, 87, died January 1, 2016 at
7:14PM at her home in Ochelata, OK.
Aleta May Herrington was born in Manford, Oklahoma
on August 31, 1928 to her parents C.C. and Zenuia
Pershall. As a child she loved baking cakes for her
daddy and taking care of her farm animals. She
attended high school at Webb City and Shidler, OK
where she was a drum major and enjoyed playing
basketball. Aleta married Alfred L. Herrington on
June 11, 1946 then made their home in Grainola, OK.
While living in Grainola she was the community hair
dresser and cake decorator. The couple moved to the
Bartlesville area in 1956.
She is survived by 4 children, Clifford (Maxine)
Herrington, Sandy (Wayne) Hacker, Denise (Don) Seaba,
Donna (Ross) Lewis, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great
grandchildren. Four siblings, Wesley Pershall,
Louetta Mow, Carol Long, and Lewis Dean Pershall as
well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, C.C. and
Zenuia Pershall, her husband, Alfred L. Herrington,
her sister Genevieve Adams and a brother Charles
Clinton Pershall.
Aleta loved bowling and dancing in which she did
until November 2015. She was loved and adored by all
who knew her and will be missed by everyone!
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are
requested to Rivercross Hospice or to the American
Cancer Society
in her name.
Funeral Services will be held 2PM Wednesday, January
6, 2016 in the Stumpff Chapel, 1600 SE Washington
Blvd. Bartlesville, OK.
