Michael Shane "Mike" Foster died December 9, 2018, with his wife, children, priest, and friends at his side.

He was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, September 30, 1968, to Danny Eugene Foster and Judith Ralyn "Judy" (Sturm) Foster. He attended Ochelata Caney Valley School and Big Cabin High School, and graduated from St. Gregory's College and Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. He finished all work except a thesis for a master's degree in science in environmental microbiology at the University of Central Oklahoma. Mike met Annette McClain while they were attending St. Gregory's College; they married in 1992. They were blessed with two children, of whom he was very proud. He worked as a microbiologist for Medical Arts Laboratory, Mercy Hospital, and became an HLA technologist while working for OU Medical Center, doing cross-matching for transplant patients. After his father's death in 2008, Mike gave up his career to help run the family business in Ochelata. An avid reader, he enjoyed discussing politics, history, and theology; he also loved classic automobiles. Before changing careers, he was very active in the Orthodox Christian Church and taught church history classes.

Mike is preceded in death by his father Danny Foster, his uncles Steve Sturm, Jerry Warden Foster, William Kent Foster, Louis Ray Foster, and aunts Linda Nell Childress and Frances Inez Phillips.

He is survived by his wife Annette, their children Michael and Rebekah, his mother Judy, his brother Kevin, his sister Kylee Scott and her family, his uncles Larry (Kilcha) and Richard (Diana) Foster, his aunts Di Foster, Clara Foster, Lana Jill (Dennis) Earp, and numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of Integris Baptist Medical Center for their care and support during his last two weeks of life. Visiting Hours are at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 North Council Road, in Oklahoma City on Thursday, December 13 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Final Viewing will be at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 15000 North May Avenue, in Oklahoma City on Friday, December 14 at 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside service is in Ochelata on December 15 at 11:15 a.m., with a celebration of his life in the Ochelata School Gymnasium at 12:30 p.m.
