Linda Kathryn Yardley was born in Oklahoma City on November 22, 1947, to Roger and Rita (Bell) Naegele. The oldest of four siblings, Linda grew up in Arkansas City, KS, in a household filled with love, laughter, and faith. Following her family's passion for fishing, as a teenager Linda worked at the family concession stand at the local fishing lake.

Linda met the love of her life, David Yardley, in high school and later attended Cowley County Junior College. She worked at Dillons Grocery in Arkansas City throughout high school and college. On June 10, 1967, David and Linda married and lived in Manhattan, KS. After David graduated from Kansas State University, they moved to Houston where David worked in the oil industry. In 1970, they welcomed their first son, Randall Bryan, and later moved to Baton Rouge, LA. In 1974, their son, Mark Brandon, was born. That same year, David joined Phillips 66, and the family moved to Bartlesville, OK.
Linda inherited her creativity from her father, a woodworking craftsman, and mother who "sewed and cooked up a storm". Linda transformed her skills into small business ventures, including sewing custom drapes, selling high-quality fabrics, designing custom art, creating miniature houses, and sculpting with clay. However, Linda's true passion was quilting. Over the last 35 years, Linda made custom quilts for her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. These quilts were uniquely designed to capture the family members' personal style or interests in sports and outdoor adventures. Linda also made wall hangings, baby quilts, and Veteran quilts, which were donated through special programs.
Linda worked at Union Bank and Trust, served as a teacher's aide at Bartlesville High School, and then resumed her banking career as a teller manager at the Phillips 66 Credit Union. In early retirement years, Linda and David traveled internationally and shared an interest in master gardening. Their home was once part of the Bartlesville Garden Tour. Linda was also the ideal grandma and had a special bond with each of her grandsons. She taught them life lessons, played games, and attended most of their school activities, sports games, and award ceremonies. Linda was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting her grandsons' friends for lunch just to get to know them better. She made sure her grandsons always returned home or to school with a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies.
Linda was incredibly devoted to her family. Despite facing her own medical challenges at times, she was the family caretaker. Her smile, her courage, her strength and her mentally tough attitude always persevered and were admired by all.
Linda and David were members of the Bartlesville First Baptist Church for 46 years, where they met their dearest friends.
Linda is survived by her son Mark Yardley and his wife Melissa (Bartlesville); grandsons Logan Yardley (Tulsa) and Tanner Yardley (Bartlesville); daughter-in-law, Robin Yardley-Page (Bartlesville); grandsons Tyler Yardley (Carrollton, TX) and Grant Yardley and his fiance Caitlin (Prairie Village, KS); sister Gayle Jones and husband Chuck (Highlands Ranch, CO); sister Elaine Engelman and husband David (Benedict, KS); brother Cris Naegele and wife Linda (Wichita, KS); sister-in-law Debra Yardley (Maize, KS); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Yardley; son, Randy Yardley; parents, Roger and Rita (Bell) Naegele; and stepmother, Ruth (Oestmann) Naegele.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2025, at Bartlesville First Baptist Church, 405 S. Cherokee Ave. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel.
