EXAMINER-ENTERPRISE
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Edward Williams; her parents, Madison White and Lillie Lenora (Clark) Randolph; and her brother, Roy Randolph.
She is
survived by two children, Mona Williams Calvert and
her husband, Darryl, of Fayetteville, AR and Rick
Williams and his wife, Carolyn, of New Braunfels,
TX; grandchildren, Richard Williams of Houston, TX,
Thad Williams and his wife, Dawn, of Austin, TX,
Jennifer Williams Moreno and her husband, Basilio of
New Braunfels, TX, Kelly Calvert Stewart and her
husband, Jack, of Fayetteville, AR and eight great
grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin
sister, Jean Jeffers, her sister, Bettye Firor, and
her brother, Madison Randolph, plus a host of loving
nieces and nephews.
June began and ended her life as a proud Texan. Born
in Dallas, she moved with her family across Texas
where she attended twelve different schools before
she graduated from Forest Avenue High School back in
Dallas. She was working at Traveler's Insurance in
downtown Dallas when she met the love of her life,
Jim Williams. They were married on September 5, 1948
and eventually moved to Bartlesville, OK where they
spent forty-seven happy years together. June
returned to her Texas roots when she moved to New
Braunfels in 2008 where she enjoyed the warmth, her
family and the bluebonnets.
An avid sports fan, June proudly wore the colors of
her favorite teams – the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the
Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. She also
closely followed professional golf from the days of
Arnold Palmer to Rickie Fowler and made several
trips to her favorite tournament - The Masters. June
was often teased by her family for her exuberant
cheering at games in real life and on television,
but that never hindered her enjoyment of sports.
A life-long passion for travel, ignited by her
interest in geography and history from her school
days, took June on multiple trips to Europe
exploring the continent from top to bottom, side to
side. She also vacationed many times in Mexico and
various Caribbean islands, journeyed three times to
China as well as Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, and
Thailand, toured Australia and New Zealand with
stops in Tahiti and Fiji, and visited all 50 states.
Her only travel regrets were not seeing the Egyptian
pyramids and St. Petersburg, Russia.
The joys that June found in being with family were
equaled by the joys she brought them. Her laughter,
her poise, her strength, and above all, her love
provided her husband, children, and others
happiness, security, cakes, and cookies.
A visitation celebrating her life will be from
