Frances Joann Williams, 82, of Fort Collins, Colorado,
and formerly of Bartlesville, died peacefully January
11, surrounded by her loving family.
Fran was born December 20, 1934 in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
She married P-66 engineer Kenneth Williams in 1959. The
couple moved to Bartlesville in 1965 and raised four
active children. After Ken retired in 1986, the couple
moved to Colorado, but maintained close ties to
Bartlesville. Widowed in 1996, Fran was a dynamic woman
who found countless ways to teach, inspire, and serve
others in her church and in her community.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her
sister Lois Flowers, and her daughter Dr. Jennifer
McKissick (founder of Hopestone in Bartlesville).
Fran is survived by her sister Charlotte McNutt, as well
as her daughter Ellen Williams and Ellen's three
children, Evan, Lauren and Valerie Sumner; her son Ralph
and his daughter Phoebe Henderson; her son Paul and his
children, Grant, Cole, Kate and Paul Williams; and by
the late Jennifer McKissick's daughters, Brandy and
Gabrielle Storey, and by Julia McKissick and Jennifer's
husband Scott McKissick. "Granny Franny" is also
survived by her great-granddaughter Mackenzie Sumner,
daughter of Evan Sumner.
A memorial service for Frances was held on January 21 at
The First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins. Her
ashes will later be placed alongside her beloved husband
at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville.
Memorial donations may be made to Hopestone Cancer
Support Center in Bartlesville or The First United
Methodist Church (earmarked "Children's Ministries"),
1005 Stover St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
