Eddie was born January 6, 1943 to Everett
Aaron and Bessie Bigtalk Trowbridge. He is an enrolled member of the
Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe in Sisseton, SD.
He received his education in the Bartlesville School System attending
Washington Elementary, Central and College High School. He attended
Texas Barber College in Dallas in 1961 and worked as a barber in
Bartlesville, Dewey and Claremore areas for several years. He later
attended the Tulsa School of Welding and worked as a welder at the Port
of Catoosa and Hill Steel in Bartlesville.
He enlisted in the US Armed
Forces in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1970.
Eddie married Karen Clark in 1965 and to this union a son was born,
Terrance Allen “Terry” Trowbridge. He later married Debbie White and
they had a daughter, Tara (Brown) Madden.
Eddie was a kind and caring person. He was talented and once worked
making Indian jewelry from antlers and bone.
He was a member of the New Hope Indian UMC in Dewey.
He is survived by his son, Terry Trowbridge (Melinda), daughter Tara
Madden (David), one sister Janice Albro (Dick), his companion and best
friend, Lilly Tyner. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Kaleb
Trowbridge of Claremore, Tristen and Trevor Trowbridge of Bartlesville,
Alexis and Daniel Madden, Avalyn Thompson and Atticus Keatigh of Dewey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett A. and Bessie
Trowbridge, brothers Richard Newburn (Los Angeles, CA), Everett A
“Herby” Trowbridge and wife Teresa (Garland, TX) and nephew, Eric
Trowbridge (Arlington, TX).
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds can be made in his name to Grace
Hospice of Oklahoma, PO Box 33234, Tulsa, OK 74153 or New Hope Indian
UMC, 910 W. 9th Street, Dewey, OK 74029
