Grady Carl Thurman Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 12, 2016.
Grady was born in Anson, TX. on January 24, 1927 to Grady Carl Thurman Sr. and Clara Alta Wesley Thurman.

Grady went to school in Ropesville, Tx., until March 8th, 1944, at which time he joined the U.S. Navy, during WWII. He served his country until his Honorable Discharge on June 5, 1946.
Grady met Lois Howell in Lubbock, Tx., just prior to his discharge from the Navy. They were married on June 19, 1946 in Silverton, Tx.
Grady farmed for the next ten years in Ropesville, Tx. and in Centerton, Ar. In 1956 Grady & Lois and their three daughters moved to Tulia, Tx., where Grady worked at his father's drugstore, Thurman Drug. He later moved to Lubbock, Tx., where he worked as a lineman and central office repairman for South Plains Telephone Coop. In 1961 they moved back to Tulia, Tx. where Grady purchased and operated Thurman Drug. After selling Thurman Drug, Grady and Lois traveled the country for many years in their Lois Prevention business. Grady and Lois moved to Bartlesville, Ok. in 1976 where they owned and operated Century 21 Grady Thurman Realty. They later retired, making Bartlesville their home.
Grady accepted Christ as his Savior in Centerton, Ar. on November 9, 1954.

Grady was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Thurman, his parents, one brother, 5 sisters, and one great- granddaughter.

He is survived by his 4 daughters and their husbands, Carlene and Garry Bradford of Bartlesville, Ok., Patsy and John Edd Rowlett of Bartlesville, Ok., Gail and Kent Gardner of Tulia, Tx. and Wendy and Kenny Ratliff of Pittsburg Co. Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Grady will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Viewing will be at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville on Wednesday, March 16th, from 6pm to 8pm, where the family will be receiving guest.

Funeral will be held at Bartlesville Baptist Temple, at 2pm on Thursday, March 17th, under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Schexnayder and Rev. Dan Tidwell will be conducting services.
