Madeline Skinner, 86, of Bartlesville, died at 12:31 P.M. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Skinner will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Terry Long of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Skinner was born in Bartlesville on March 25, 1926 to James Benjamin and Opal Mae (Jones) Sears. She grew up and received her education in the Bartlesville area. She was married to Fredrick Tredway Skinner on August 4, 1945 at Independence, Kansas. They have made their home in Bartlesville since that time. Mr. Skinner was employed with Reda Pump for 35 years and Mrs. Skinner was active as a homemaker. She loved painting, gardening and playing bridge with her monthly ladies bridge group. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
Mrs. Skinner is survived by her husband, Fred Skinner of the home in Bartlesville, one son, Fredrick Tredway Skinner Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Tulsa, one daughter, Melanie Jane Pierce and her husband Richard of Bartlesville, 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Henry Sears and a twin sister, Maxine who died in infancy.
