Funeral services for Mr. Manford H. Sires, 83, longtime resident
and National Zinc Company retiree, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the
New Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Cox was the officiant. Committal prayers
and interment will be directed in the Memorial Park Cemetery by the Arnold Moore
Funeral Service. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by the James
H. Teel American Legion Post 105.
Casket bearers for Mr. Sires included David L. Billbe, Louis F. McKenzie, Carl
L. Reynolds, James W. "Jim" Snively, Jimmie E. "Jim" Reynolds and William "Bill"
Hawkins. Honorary escorts were Michael D. "Mike" McNair and Robert J. "Bob"
Baughman.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Lou "Judy" Sires, of the home; his son,
Ronald Eugene "Ron" Sires and his wife, Sheri; his brother, Walter C. "Walt"
Sires and his wife, Pauline; his sister, Mrs. Rosetta Estes and her husband,
Billy Joe; all of Bartlesville; three granddaughters, Mrs. Amber D. Johnson and
her husband, Chris, Mrs. Jeanine Flenniken and her husband, Ben and Mrs. Tresha
Swickey and her husband, Brad; and two great grandchildren, Travis Scott and
Jessie Joslen.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and by a sister, Mrs. May Red.
