Gerald Orlando Sears, Jr., 94, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died
September 10, 2017.
Jerry was born in Bartlesville March 28, 1923 to G. O. Sears and Phyllis
(Copeland) Sears. He graduated from College High School in 1942. From there he
joined and served in the US Marine Corps from 1942-1945. Upon returning from his
WWII service in the Southwest and Central Pacific area he married his high
school sweetheart, Neva Marie Fields on May 14, 1945. Jerry worked in Research
and Development for Phillips Petroleum for 30 years as an instrument technician.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Neva Marie (Fields) Sears, a son,
Patrick Sears of Tulsa, and a daughter, Janet Godbey of Bartlesville. Jerry and
Neva have 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great
grandchild.
Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ernest Sears.
Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the
Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville with Rev. Elaine Cervini officiating.
Military rites will be accorded at the graveside and services are under the
direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
