ENID, Okla. — Robert Harold Schultz, 81, of Tulsa, Okla., died Wednesday morning, Feb. 13, 2013, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Walker-Brown Chapel with Rev. Tom Cox officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 105 Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home, Bartlesville, Okla.
Memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to the Rotary Club of Tulsa Foundation, 616 S. Boston Ave., Suite 410, Tulsa, OK 74119.
Robert was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Enid, Okla., to Floyd and Novice (Wilmoth) Schultz.
Robert was an outstanding student and a brave soldier.
A week after graduating from Enid High School, class of 1950, the Oklahoma National Guard was called to duty in Korea. Robert spent two years in the Korean War, where he earned medals and commendations for his dedication and valor.
Upon his return from active duty, Robert enrolled at Oklahoma A&M College, where he served in the Cadet Officers Club and received his B.A. in economics and government in 1956.
He spent the next 30 years working for Phillips Petroleum Co., which gave him the opportunity to live and travel in many parts of the world.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann (Young) Schultz, and four children: David Schultz, John and Lori Schultz, Gretchen and Mike Fugett, all of Tulsa, and Kristen and Eric Johnson of Princeton, New Jersey. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Thomas Fugett, Andrew Fugett, Kristen Schultz, Jacob Schultz, Emily Schultz and David Johnson. In addition, he is survived by his younger sister, Betty Kreplin of Enid.
Robert was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Heidi Schultz.
An avid reader and gardener, Robert also was involved with the Rotary Clubs of Bartlesville and Tulsa.
While living in London, Robert enjoyed his tenure as treasurer of the board of trustees for the American School in London.
