be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are
under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral
Home.
Donald Elmo Sams was born March 5, 1935 in
Dewey, OK to Elmo and Fern (Loe) Sams. Don
married Loua Watson Harley on May 2, 1957 in
Bartlesville. Don was a long time member of East
Bartlesville Christian Church. He retired from
H. C. Price Company working as a grounds
keeper/maintenance employee with over 20 years
of dedicated service. Don was an avid animal
lover and enjoyed training mules to jump. He
once trained a mule to jump 72" which set a
world's record.
Don is survived by two daughters; Sheri and
husband Arrick LaVasseur of Bartlesville and
Ladona and husband Dennis Harrison of Skiatook,
OK. He was blessed with five grandchildren:
Heather Duncan, Kendl Breeding, Hannah LaVasseur,
Aaron LaVasseur, Adam LaVasseur and ten great
grandchildren: Kailyn, Madi, Brynlee and Beau
Breeding, Wyatt, Lyla and Tyson Duncan, Kadynce,
Trenton and Lucas LaVasseur. Also surviving are
two sisters; Velma Allen, Patty and husband Gary
Stamper, numerous nieces, nephews and many
friends.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 53
years, Loua Sams, his parents and sister,
Shirley Groves.
