Pamela Sue Curry-Siemers, 71, a loving wife, mother, and sister, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at home with her beloved husband Steven and loving caregiver Doris by her side.
Pamela was born July 15, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Kathleen June (McCarty) and Robert Thomas Tracey. Pamela had a child at an early age. Her son, Justin Sheppard, was born when Pam was 17. A testament to her determination and ambition, Pam completed her high school graduation after his birth. She then earned her nursing degree at St. Anthony College of Nursing in Oklahoma City. She completed her nurse anesthetist training in Wichita, Kansas.
Pam's career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist spanned more than 30 years. She initially moved to Houston, Texas, and then to Oklahoma City, where she earned a reputation as a very skilled nurse anesthetist. Pam later contracted her services to Blackwell Regional Hospital, and she really enjoyed her time working there until 2003, when Steve's job moved from Ponca City to Bartlesville.
Pam and Steve met in Ponca City in 1993 when they were both in their 40s, and that is when their love lives truly started. The couple married on September 10, 1994. Pam was such a supportive wife and treated Steve's job transfer to Bartlesville like an adventure. The couple found a beautiful small acreage near Ochelata, where Pam could share her love of animals with horses, dogs, cats, and various wildlife. She rescued many animals through the years. Pam was a gifted horsewoman who won two Morgan Horse World Championships, including "Ladies' Pleasure Driving" with her horse Suzette's Jewel and "Classic Pleasure Saddle Masters" with her horse SPR Pompeii.
After moving to the acreage, Pam then worked for the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital in Talahina, Oklahoma, and commuted back and forth for two weeks at a time. Steve loved joining Pam in Talihina for the weekends she was on call. After the position with the Choctaw Nation changed, she decided to get a job in Tulsa and then Moore, Oklahoma. She worked until October 2017, when symptoms of early onset Alzheimer's started showing. At that time Steve retired from his job to spend more time with his beloved wife, and he then became her caregiver, one of the most fulfilling jobs he ever had.
Pam was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Before Justin's death in 2017, Pam faithfully checked on him regularly. She did her very best to help her grandchildren, as well. Pam loved riding her horses, going to Horse Shows, spending time with her grandchildren, and spending time at her acreage.
Pam is survived by her loving husband, Steven Siemers; her sister, Kelly Tracey; and her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen and Robert Tracey; her son, Justin Sheppard; and her sister, Bobbye Van Horn.
Visitation will be held from 10-8 on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006, 918-333-7665. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., on Monday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church with Father John O'Neill officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery's Mausoleum in Bartlesville. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel. Steve wants to thank Doris Byfield Pam's everyday caregiver, all Pam's other caregivers, everybody at Comforting Hands Hospice especially Nurses and Bath Aides, Father John, Priscella Caron, Dr Jeanne Edwards, Dr. James Hutchens, and Dr William Davito.
