Carol Jean Shriver, 90, of Rogers Arkansas died on April 15, 2026 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Visitation will be held at Stumpff Funeral Home, Bartlesville, Oklahoma at 11:00 - 12:30 follow by family graveside service on Wednesday April 22, 2026.
Carol Jean Shriver was born in Haworth, Oklahoma on August 8, 1935 to Sam and Bonnie Ray. Carol grew up in Southeastern Oklahoma and graduated from Idabel High School in 1953. Ms Shriver completed her Bachelors Degree in Education and began her teaching career in 1960. Her education continued with completion of a Master Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in 1970. Carol retired from Dewey Elementary Schools in 1988 while being named Oklahoma Teacher of the Year in 1978.
Ms Shriver was proceeded in death by her parents Sam and Bonnie Ray, husband Earl Shriver, daughter Teresa Pierce, and brother Charles Ray of Amarillo, TX. She is survived by Jeanie and Terry Hough, Rogers, Ar, Tom and Juliet Maye, Owasso, Todd and Tina Maye of Broken Arrow, and Jennifer Shriver of Oklahoma.
Mimi, as she was known had 8 grandkids, 10 great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews. Carol was a member of the Dewey United Methodist Church where she was active with Deborah Circle, Finance Committee, Chicklets, as well as Kappa Kappa Iota teachers sorority.
Carol and Earl started their retirement journey traveling and teaching wood carving, quilting, and instructing adult reading classes at the Bartlesville Library. Throughout their life they were committed to helping others. To all who knew her felt honored and blessed.
