Norma Lou Robinson was born on March 27, 1935 in Bartlesville,
Oklahoma to P.W. and Ruby (Hawkins) Tate. She grew up in rural
Bartlesville, Oklahoma and graduated from College High in 1953.
Norma raised two rambunctious girls and enjoyed a lot of
adventures with them. After the girls were grown Norma went into
the banking industry where she worked faithfully for 25 years.
She loved her work and she loved her family. Everyone that knew
Norma knew that she loved ALL her kids. No matter if they were
her’s or not, she loved them. The kids at church in the nursery
or Sunday school. The kids In the neighborhood and of course her
family. She loved her family and she had a lot of them to love.
Caring for others was something she was great at. She always put
others first. She had to make sure everything was done right!
Down to the ironing of the sheets. She was a classy lady that
loved to talk on the phone and she was a puzzle extraordinaire.
She was an amazing cook and no one can fry fish like Norma! The
kids never went without a snack... homemade applesauce or ice
cream. There was always something for them. She always spoke her
mind and gave you advice whether you wanted it or not. She was
loyal to a fault and loved her Lord. She was a member of
Highland Park Baptist Church and later a member of New Harmony
Baptist Church, but no matter where she was a member she was a
child of God and loved to serve her Lord. She had many hobbies
including lead glass, sand blasting, cross stitching (which she
has passed on to Anji) and of course sewing. She made outfits,
doll clothes, prom dresses, but she was most proud of the prayer
quits she made for her church family. She was a servant; a
servant of her family, a servant of her friends, a servant of
her church, but most importantly a servant of God. The hole that
is left in her family will never be filled, but the knowledge
that they will all meet again in their heavenly home is a
comfort.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents P.W. & Ruby (Hawkins)
Tate. Her sister Rena Mae King.
Norma survived by her siblings
Kenneth Tate, Dale Tate, Gary Tate, Ronald Tate, and Wilma
Wells. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church
family.
