DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Emily Sue Patterson, 82, of Dewey went home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday.

Sue was born the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Martin) Keen on February 3, 1934, in Delaware, OK. She attended Alluwe schools and graduated in 1952. Sue met Ron Patterson the love of her life through mutual friends. Ron enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and while her sweetheart Ron was stateside on leave, Sue and Ron were united in marriage on April 1, 1955. Sue went to live with him at Camp Pendleton, CA. After his honorable discharge the family moved back to Nowata, and then Dewey in 1959. Before Sue was married she worked as a telephone operator in Nowata. She later worked in the Phillips Petroleum Co. executive dining room, Dewey public schools cafeteria and Jane Philips Hospital cafeteria before retiring in 1995. After 60 years of marriage Ron preceded her in death on October 21, 2015.

Sue had many passions in life including being a 40-plus year member of the Spruce Ave. Missionary Baptist Church in Bartlesville. Ron, with Sue’s help, raised beef for his family and church friends. They loved to camp and fish. Sue enjoyed working on puzzles, decorating for Christmas, bowling and cooking for her family. She will be dearly missed.

Sue is survived by one daughter Paula Liston and Joel of Nowata; one daughter-in-law Sylvia Patterson Vega of Costa Rica; one sister Pat McBride of Fort Smith; one brother Ted Keen of Walla Walla, WA; three grandchildren, Tasha and husband Dietrich Posch of Bartlesville, Cole Liston of Nowata, and Miguel Patterson Vega of Costa Rica; two great grandchildren Mela Grace Posch and Ella Joyce Posch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, one son Michael Gene Patterson in 2006, and one sister Mary Marie Keen.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Spruce Ave. Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Bettis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Sue’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
