DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Harry G. Parker, 67, lifelong resident of Bartlesville, died Saturday in Dewey.

Harry was born to John. V. and Genevieve Pearl (Puckett) Parker on May 17, 1950. He was the only son and growing up the wild thorn in his four sisters’ sides. He attended local schools and graduated from Col-Hi in 1969. Over the years, he specialized in assembly in the oil & gas industry. He worked for Reda Pump TRW, Scott and Hill Steel, among others. Harry also raised cattle with his father.

Harry loved the outdoors from a young age when his father introduced him to shooting and hunting – two of his lifelong passions. He was an exceptional hunter and fisherman and he was a licensed trapper, skilled in antler and skull mounting, turkey tails and making fishing equipment. He was also a bow hunter and squirrels were his specialty. He often took his nephews on his hunting and fishing trips. When he wasn’t hunting, Harry was still happiest outdoors and feeding his hummingbirds whom he named and working in his garden.

He was also a talented craftsman who made natural rustic furniture and picture frames which he shared with family and friends. His favorite song was George Jones’ “Hotter than a two dollar pistol.” He never married but loved country music and western movies almost, but not quite, as much as he did his sisters and large, extended family.

Harry is survived by his four sisters: Judy and Jack Woods, Beth Goins, Laverne and Joe Jackson, and Linda and Terry Stimson, all of Bartlesville; three nieces; two nephews; five great nieces; six great nephews; one great grand nephew; and one great grand niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother in law Jim Goins.

Visitation will be held on Wed. from 12-8 and Thur. 9-8. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to My Refuge, C/O Ken Peace, West Oak Baptist Church, 1536 N. Sunset, Bartlesville, OK 74003.

Private graveside services and interment will be held at Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Harry’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
