in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the
direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Norma Maxine (Welch) Panther was born July 31, 1926 in
Carl Junction, MO to John Homer and Ella Marie (Runyan)
Welch. Maxine worked at Beach Aircraft in Wichita, KS
during the war efforts of WWII. It was there she met
Philip A. Panther. They married and moved to
Bartlesville in 1946 with Philip taking a job with
Phillips Petroleum Co. Maxine was a bookkeeper by trade
and began working for Union National Bank and later
First National Bank.
Maxine enjoyed the outdoors, camping and boating at
different lakes. She was an avid bowler with an average
of 165 in her league. Her pastime included ceramics,
crocheting and most of all, cooking, feeding people and
taking care of her beloved family.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Panther of
Bartlesville. She was blessed with three grandchildren;
John, Jennifer and Nathan Sachs, three great grandsons,
sister-in-law, Darlene Welch of and nieces, Roxy Welch
and Sheri Dusseau all of Albuquerque, NM, their families
and many friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Philip
Panther, parents, John H. and E. Marie Welch, brothers,
Donald L. Welch and Bobbie L. Welch.
