George William Nowlin, Jr, born August 1, 1929, in Howe, OK to George William Nowlin, Sr and Bertha Marie Nowlin (Askew) went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2016, surrounded by his family in his home.

George began his education in Howe, attended Central Jr High in Bartlesville, and completed education in Fanshawe, OK. He was united in marriage to Joy Ann Scrivner on November 5, 1948 in Ft Smith, AR. They lived in Bartlesville until moving to Sidney, NE in 1949 where he was employed by Sioux Ordnance Depot. They moved to McAlester in 1952 then returned to Bartlesville in 1953 until present. He worked for National Life Insurance Co. until 1957 before beginning employment with National Zinc Co. He was promoted to a management position in 1967 and was General Maintenance Supervisor at the time of his medical retirement in 1986.

George is survived by his wife, Joy, of the family home; their three children, Cheryl Ann Grizzle and her husband, Carl, of Tulsa; Mark William Nowlin and his wife, Barbara, of Ponca City; Angela Denise Wilson and her husband, Jay, of Bartlesville; two grandchildren, Scott M. Grizzle of Tulsa, Andrew William Nowlin of Yukon; two great grandchildren, Natalie and Logan Grizzle; two brothers, John Nowlin, of San Franciso, CA; Larry Nowlin of Langley; two sisters, Betty Pennington of Hartford, AR; Mary Sutton of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by one Grandchild, Amy Grizzle; his parents, two brothers, James A and Oscar Dee Nowlin; and two sisters, Effreda Danel and Emma Schalski.

As a charter member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church, he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Director, as well as on many committees including the Building Committee.
Come and go visitation will be held on Wednesday 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Family will be present to greet friends from 6-8:00 PM.

Services for George will be on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Eastern Heights Baptist Church, 1331 SE Swan Drive. Pastor Michael Vallandingham will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
