A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at
Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Rick Woodward officiating. Services
are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Jack Karns Newman was born March 10, 1944 in Bartlesville, OK to K.R.
and Galela (Grissom) Newman. He was raised in Bartlesville and graduated
from College High School in 1962. On December 10, 1965 while returning
home for the weekend from college at OSU in Stillwater his life changed
forever when he was struck by a drunk driver. He endured years of
operations and rehab and for the last 21 years his home was the Nowata
Nursing Center, Nowata OK.
Surviving family members include his brother Odie Newman and wife Doris
of Dewey, OK, sisters: Betsy Graham and husband Bruce of Little Elm, TX
and Nancy Newman and her friend Barbara Ramsey of Sun City West, AZ
along with five nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by both his mother and father, brother Wesley
Newman and sister Tilly Dewey.
