DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Sharon Dean McGuire was a loving, hardworking, active lady who nurtured her children, adored her grandchildren and spoilt her great grandchildren. At the age of 72, she left this dance on earth for the eternal party in Heaven.

Sharon was born January 22, 1945, in Bartlesville to Harold Lee Bates and Florence Irene Bates Logan. She attended Bartlesville public schools and graduated from College High in 1963. Soon after, she moved to Coffeyville, KS, where she worked as a nurse’s aide for several years. She joined Halliburton and painted and decaled large tanks for 17 years, transferring to Duncan, OK before the company shut down its operations there. Sharon was a talented seamstress and after she moved to Seminole, OK, to be near her sister, landed the job she loved at Wrangler, sewing pockets on jeans.

Later in life, Sharon met Bill in 1995 and they were married in May 2003, blending their two families and creating a new life together. They traveled around for Bill’s work for many years, before moving back to her hometown of Bartlesville in 2015, just two years ago.
When Sharon wasn’t working, she still stayed active and was always humming and shaking her leg. She enjoyed dancing, reading or simply curling up with a good book. She was a loving, kind and giving mother who treasured her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her dog Sassy.

Sharon is survived by Bill McGuire of Broken Arrow, five children, David Keene and Suzanne of Bartlesville, Lance Keene and Shelby of Caney, Ks, Jennifer Klinkhammer and Scott of Albuquerque, NM, Justin McGuire and Lori of Owasso and Corey McGuire and Melissa of Jenks, Ok, one brother David Arnold Bates of Bartlesville, one sister Mildred Lynn Bryant of Bartlesville, one sister in law, Claudine Bates of Tulsa, ten grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren, Grace, Hayden, Chloe, Kalle, Leland, Gary, Savanna and Hunter, seven great grandchildren, Kori, Bentley, Bristol, Beckhem, Dally, Wilson and Pepper and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Jerry Bates.

Visitation will be held on Saturday 12-5 and Sunday 12-5 at Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey. Sharon’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, from 3-5 pm Sunday.
