Crematory.
Susie Anna (Thompson) McCormick was born February 7, 1929 in Wagoner,
Okla. She was the daughter of the late Ray B. Thompson and Sadie E.
(Vest) Thompson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A.
McCormick, her parents, three brothers, Wesley Thompson, Walter
Thompson, Roy Thompson, two sisters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Pierce and Mrs.
Tom (Thelma) Schmidt, all of Bartlesville.
She is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Elmer R. and Suzanne Ford of Santa Teresa, New
Mexico, two granddaughters, Pamela Tuck of Heavener, Okla. and Katherine
Ford-Garcia of Lockport, New York, four great grandchildren, her sister,
Mrs. Jerry (Gladys) Enterline and many nieces and nephews.
Growing up, she went to school at Limestone, Rice Creek, and Ochelata,
Oklahoma. She worked for Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville for fourteen
and one-half years, then attended Beauty College and worked as a
beautician in Grove, Okla. She was a member of Bartlesville Southern
Baptist Church. She was also past-president of Washington County
Homemakers, and enjoyed getting together and making pie crusts which
went to raise funds for scholarships. However, her greatest love was
quilting and won numerous ribbons on her quilts at the Bartlesville
Fair. She was also a fifty year member and Worthy Matron of Grove
Chapter # 209 Order of Eastern Star.
She was married to Sam McCormick for 36 years, first living in Grove for
many years and then retiring back to Bartlesville in 1989. While living
in Grove, they enjoyed RV(ing) around the country for many years and
were members of the “Good Sam’s Club.”
