Peggy Jennet (Way) Machlan, 81, passed away peaceful Thursday morning May 24, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6 pm until 7 pm at the Stumpff Funeral Home and a simple graveside service will be held Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery at 10am.
Peggy was born on February 21, 1937 in Healdsburg, California. Peggy was very self sufficient and determined and was blessed with a unique intelligence and attention to the smallest details. Those who knew her best were often amazed at her ability to hold information in her head. She possessed great determination and could accomplish anything she put her mind to. Her family members can each tell a story of times she started something and would not quit until it was done no matter the time or effort it took. Peggy did not hold an advanced degree, but many with much greater education often sought her insight and guidance. Peggy worked in the glass business for 30 years and constantly assumed positions of greater influence and respect. She and late husband, Bob Machlan, were the owner and operators of Rogers Glass, a successful glass ship in Tulsa, OK, from 1990 until they retired and sold the business in 2000. Peggy was an officer in the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and loved to teach and encourage high school students in the construction arts. Peggy had a huge heart to help people often donating to many charities in and around West Tulsa.
Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter Julie Ann Machlan Poe, one brother Melvin Way, her husband Robert Machlan, and both parents Ruby and Glenn Way.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen Poe and Laura Anne Schaefer, a sister Mary Gobber, two brothers Paul Way and Duane Way. Arrangements have been made through Stumpff Funeral Home, Bartlesville, OK.
The family asks you to honor Peggy by making a donation to your favorite charity or Service organization.
