On December 20th, 2023, at the age of 93, Louise Ella Jordan Miller left us peacefully for her final approach into eternity following a week of fellowship with friends and family.
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)
Louise Miller was born on December 11th, 1930 in Wildhorse, Oklahoma where she was raised. Louise graduated from Wildhorse High School in 1949 where she enjoyed sports and discovered her gift for writing. After school, she worked for the Bartlesville Examiner and Reda Pump. She married James Miller on January 11th, 1951 which began a lifelong journey of family, memories, and legacy.
While stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton, their daughter Constance Lewis was born on base on September 7th, 1953. Their son Stanley Miller I was born on October 3rd, 1955 in Tulsa, OK. Her family followed oil booms while raising kids and lived in multiple towns in Oklahoma and Kansas. Louise always took pride in her family and home. In addition to raising her kids, she had a knack for design and drew plans for several homes that she and Jim built together; she then went on to help the next generations do the same.
With her kids raised, Louise had an idea to create an oil and gas company with her husband and their adult children. That idea became Lamamco Drilling Company in 1974. This venture and affiliated businesses was a tremendous chapter of their life for decades. She loved working alongside her two children and their partners. What began as her idea and one oil lease became one of the largest independent oil companies in Oklahoma and has become a multi-generational endeavor.
Louise and her family shared a deep love for traveling and exploring together. Her grandchildren also fondly recall time spent at the "farm," a perfect home for favorite meals, go-karts, and games with grandma and grandpa. Louise would cry when the grandkids left... every time.
Louise is survived by her husband James William Miller; daughter Constance Susan Lewis and husband Gary Lewis; sister Betty Schofield and husband Joe Schofield; grandchildren Tracie Haag and husband Blaine Haag, Stanley Miller II and wife Kris Miller, Gary Lewis II and wife Carri Lewis, Shannon Miller, Skylar Miller and wife Danielle Miller, Leslie Lewis, and Sara Downing and husband Shane Downing; great-grandchildren Taylor, Connor, Parker, Grace, Avery, Jay, Calli, Grady, Josi, Mariah, Miriam, Kodi, Cooper, Madison, Alexandra, Malachi, Maximilian, Forrester, August, Moses, Crosby, Wilder, and Georgia; and great-great-grandchild Cillian; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Stanley James Miller I; parents Perry and Hazel Jordan; siblings Francis Mayfield, Annabelle Huntz, Aden Lee, Calvin Don Jordan, Leona Lee, Wanda Smith, and Robert Leon Jordan; and granddaughter Carrie Andrea Lewis.
Louise was an active member of Dewey First Baptist Church. Until her final days, she steadfastly spoke of her faith and passion for Christ. Out of her great love for her Savior came a deep love for her family - a love that abounded throughout her life, and was deeply felt by her loved ones in her final days.
