Jimmie Ray Lykins was born in Bartlesville on July 30, 1957 the son of
Rollie Ford Lykins and Gladyce M. (Brooks) Lykins. He grew up and
received his education in Bartlesville graduating from Sooner High
School in 1975. He then attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater
where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in
1982. He had been employed with Phillips Petroleum Company and also with
KPL Gas Service Company in Bartlesville and Wichita, Kansas. He was
passionate about music and liked to spread his love of God, Jesus and
the Bible. In 2000 Jim made his choice to serve God and kept true and
faithful until his death. He was always kind and thoughtful and never
missed anyone’s birthday.
Survivors include his father, Rollie Lykins of Bartlesville, three
sisters, Linda Bly and husband Pat of Springfield, Missouri, Donna
Lykins and Sandra Lykins both of Bartlesville, and a number of cousins,
nieces and nephews that he dearly loved and had a nickname for most of
them.
