STUMPFF FUNERAL HOME
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Sada Ruth Hoskins Long, 91, was called home by her heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 3, at 2:00pm.

Born June 29, 1926 to Sara May and Fred J. Hoskins--the middle of 5 daughters and one son--Sada was raised in the panhandle of Texas through the Dust Bowl, Great Depression and World War II. Sada completed a Bachelor's Degree in Art and Education at West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. While visiting Seattle, Washington at the end of the war, she met Howard Bullis Long. They later married in 1948, and after a few years living in Seattle, they returned to Texas where Howard began his career with Phillips 66. By 1954 their family was completed with three children; David Andrew, Sarabeth and Howard Dean. Sada and Howard moved to many cities and countries during his work as a petroleum engineer and Sada was active in many churches and women's groups in each place they called home. She managed to learn bits and pieces of Spanish and German, but mostly learned to faithfully seek and serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a quiet, humble servant, her most precious moments were shared when serving in an English-speaking missionary Baptist Church in Madrid, Spain; as a lesson planner in Women's Missionary Union at First Baptist Church in Bartlesville and when celebrating and supporting her niece who served as a medical missionary in Colombia, South America.

Sada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sisters; Frances, Vera Beth and Winifred, her brother; Freddy, her youngest son; Howard Dean, her grandson; Michael Long and her son-in-law; Terry Covey.

She is survived by her youngest sister; Joann Lee, a sister-in-law; Sharlie Hoskins, her eldest son; David Andrew (Andy) Long and wife Rhonda, her daughter; Sarabeth Long Covey, grandchildren; Jed Green and wife Amanda, and Bethany Covey Maddox and husband James, Eric Cooper and Wife Nicole, Elliot Cooper and Wife Brooke, and Arron Cooper, great-grandchildren; Ethan, Grace and arriving in June, Matilda, Evan, Jaxon, Jailynn, Finley, and Witten, and great-great-grandchildren; Kennedy. Sada is also survived by many nieces, nephews friends and neighbors.

Although we will miss her dearly, we are grateful to Christ Jesus who welcomed her home, restored her soul and sent her out to celebrate with all those who awaited her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Long will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville with Rev. Tom Cox officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Visitation will be at the Stumpff Funeral Home each day from 9 AM until 5 P.M. as the casket will remain closed at the services.
