Bill was born February 1, 1935, in Emporia, Kansas, to parents Robert and Roberta (Cary) Kean. On August 23, 1956, Bill married Iris Lenora Mardis. Bill enjoyed many hobbies, and he could fix anything. He was a member of the Bartlesville Baptist Temple for over 50 years and was the Bus Mechanic for their ministry. He enjoyed reading and collecting books, loved old cars, trains, and steam tractors. Bill liked to be outside working in his yard and garden. Bill will be remembered for his pleasant, even keeled disposition and his good positive attitude. He was respectful and kind to all people. He loved spending time with his family, and he will be greatly missed.
Bill is survived by his wife, Nora, of the home; his three children, Robert Thomas Kean and Tawnda of Pittsfield, Illinois; Stephanie Lynn Kean of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and Michael "Mike" Anthony Kean and Carol of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; granddaughter Rebekah Nicole Kean of Pittsfield, Illinois; and brothers Tom Kean of Nevada, Missouri; Jim Kean of Kannapolis, North Carolina; and sister Linda Williams of Carl Junction, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by son, Christopher Carl Kean, and his parents.
The family will greet friends in the Stumpff Chapel on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Baptist Temple with Pastor Brian Schexnayder officiating, interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Baptist Temple and Comforting Hands; the family requests
Memorial contributions in Bill's name be made to the Youth Fund at the Baptist Temple or to Comforting Hands Hospice.
