Mary Ann Hooker, 87, of Bartlesville, went to be with her Lord & Savior at 9:02 P.M. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hooker will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory with Paul Ortiz, her son-in-law and Senior Minister of Sandusky Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services and interment are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Hooker was born at Coffeyville, Kansas on September 3, 1930 to J.O. and Marie Couch. She began her early childhood in Nowata, Oklahoma, then moved to Chanute, Kansas. Upon graduating from senior high school in 1948 she attended Chillicothe Business College in Missouri where she earned her associates degree. On June 24, 1950 Mary Ann was married to James (Jim) Hooker. They moved to Manhattan, Kansas where she was employed as the Secretary to the Kansas State Sports Publicity Director of Kansas State College ( now Kansas State University). In 1951, they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they settled and began their family. They lived in Dewey from 1953 to 1992. Mary Ann was involved in the Jaycettes, was an avid bridge player and involved in her children's activities. Mary Ann was a member of Town & Country Christian Church, was an avid reader, prayer warrior and loved to study her bible.
Mrs. Hooker is survived by three sons, Steve Hooker, Mike Hooker and Greg Hooker and wife Sandy, all of Bartlesville, two daughters, Sharon Ortiz and husband Paul of Tulsa and Linda Robertson and husband Dean of Bartlesville. 11 grandchildren, Matthew Hooker, Jonathan Robertson, Michelle Barnes, Joshua Ortiz, David Hooker, Erik Robertson, Cindy Thomas, Dayla Martin, Mackenzie Hooker, Paco Hooker and Alex Hooker and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents and one twin sister at birth.
