Betty Galena Lewis Holt, 88, passed away in her Bartlesville, Oklahoma home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville on Saturday, June 17th at 11am.

At the request of family in lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Oklahoma Baptist Home for Children in Owasso.

She was born on March 29, 1929 in Wynona, Oklahoma to Benjamin Daniel Lewis and Bessie Mae Quillen Lewis. Betty was the 4th of 11 children. She was raised in Wynona, Tulsa and San Antonio and graduated high school in Wynona, Oklahoma. After graduation, she moved to Bartlesville to begin her career at Cities Service.
Betty married Keith Holt at the 1st Baptist Church of Bartlesville on May 19, 1950. They raised their family in Bartlesville where Betty was an active volunteer with the public schools, 1st Baptist Church, WMU and Girl and Boy Scouts. Betty worked for a number of years with Bartlesville Public Schools and Phillips Petroleum.
Keith and Betty, along with family and friends traveled extensively to all 50 states, Europe, Africa, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Betty was an excellent seamstress and quilter, making over 70 quilts. In December 2016, Betty received an award as the oldest living active member of the 1st Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years, Keith Holt; daughter Sandy Croley and husband Paul of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son Mike Holt and wife Carmen of Bonita Springs, Florida; granddaughters Sarah Spears and husband Brandon of San Antonio, Texas and Rachel Croley of Tulsa; great granddaughter Breeze Ziegler and new great grandson Warner Spears; sisters Charlene Kneisel and Agnes Walker; brothers B.D. Lewis, Ed Lewis, Paul Lewis and Doug Lewis; along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin D. Lewis and Bessie Mae Merrill. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters Virginia Lester and Jean Hurd and 2 brothers Ray Lewis and Charles Lewis.

Betty will be greatly missed for her positive attitude, for her love of family and her ability to see the best in everyone.
