Mr. Billy Monroe Hawk entered God’s Heavenly Kingdom in the
early morning hours of March 5, attended by his daughter Connie and her husband.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm Wednesday March 8th at the Memorial Park
Cemetery with Pastor Chris Morton of the East Bartlesville Christian
officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff
Funeral Home & Crematory.
Billy was born on August 25th, 1931 in Gardner, Kansas, the son of Guy H. Hawk
and Mary Frances Ruth. He attended school in Kansas City and graduated from
Wyandotte High School in 1948. Following service in the US Army Reserve, he
married Deloris June Crouch on March 31, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. They
made their home in Kansas City and moved to Bartlesville in 1970. He drove truck
for many years before joining and ultimately retiring from the Washington County
Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff where he was known as the ‘Gentle
Jailer’. A long-time member of the East Bartlesville Christian Church.
He was
preceded in death by his loving wife Deloris of 62 years, his mother Mary
Frances Hulse, his step-father Fred Hulse, and father Guy Hawk.
Billy is survived by his children, Connie Sue and her husband Donald B Marsh of
Ochelata, Larry Ray Brown and his wife Deborah Kay of Grove, Oklahoma, and Billy
F. Hawk and wife Starr Traci of Ochelata; his grandchildren Scott Wright, Aaron
Wright, Larry Brown Jr., Tim Brown, Allison Berney, and Aislyn Hawk; his
great-grandchildren Trevor, Katie Addie, Spencer, Scout, Slater, TJ, Trevor and
Dustin, and great-great grandson, Aiden.
