Mrs. Edna Evelyn Solomon Harbison, 96, of Bartlesville died at 12:09 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harbison will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jsue Wagner of Comforting Hands Hospice officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Harbison was born January 11, 1922 to John Franklin Solomon and Emma Johnson at Graham, Kansas. Edna came to Bartlesville with her family when she was four years old and has lived here ever since. She received her elementary education at Lincoln School then to Central High graduating from College High School in 1940.
She married Raymond Earl Harbison on December 21, 1940 and he preceded her in death in February of 1997.
She was the primary caregiver to her Mother and "Grandmother Harbison". Edna graduated from LPN school and worked at Jane Phillips Hospital for one year, then for R.C. Gentry M.D. for eight years, then for H. Leo Owen M.D. for thirteen years. After 22 years in the Medical Field, she retired to care for her husband. She loved her church and was a Charter member of Limestone Methodist Church (now East Cross) and the first president of the Limestone Methodist Christian Women's Society. She has remained active in her church. She also loved to travel with the Gold Club.
Survivors are two son, Arthur Dale Harbison and wife Sheri of Boise, Idaho, and Glenn Douglas Harbison and wife Susie of Bartlesville, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her 13 brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Annette Darlene Harbison in 1984.
