Mrs. Betty Frances Hale, age 90 and longtime
resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away
in Bartlesville on Tuesday evening, December 6,
2016.
Betty Frances Sanders was born in Sand Springs,
Oklahoma on April 26, 1926 to Fred L. Sanders
and Pauline G. (Osborne) Sanders. The family
moved to Greenwood, Arkansas in 1937 where Betty
grew up and received her early education. After
graduation from high school, she furthered her
education by attending Arkansas St. Teachers
College (now the University of Central
Arkansas). She graduated in 1949 with a B.S. in
Home Economics.
Betty and John Hale were married on August 13,
1950 in Greenwood, Arkansas. Shortly after being
married, the couple moved to Fayetteville,
Arkansas where John finished college at the
University of Arkansas. In 1951, the young
couple moved to Bartlesville where they became
long-time members of the East Cross United
Methodist Church.
Betty was primarily a homemaker, while raising
their three children. She was an avid reader,
enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and her greatest
joy came from being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, John, of the
family home; son, Gary Hale of Broken Arrow,
Oklahoma; daughter, Sue DeShields and her
husband, Bob of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four
grandchildren, Lauren Pharaoh of Norman,
Oklahoma, Gavin Pharaoh of Oklahoma City, Taylor
DeShields of Oklahoma City and Kylie DeShields
of Lawton, Oklahoma; one great-granddaughter,
Avalynn DeShields of Oklahoma City; one brother,
Ron Sanders and his wife, Brenda, of Tulsa,
Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews and
many friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son,
James Hale, in 1973; and brother, James Sanders.
Come and go visitation will be held on Thursday
and Friday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold
Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday,
December 10, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park
Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Burress will officiate.

Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Online
