Dorothy L. Glatfelder, age 92 and lifelong resident
of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on March 18,
2016 in the Heritage Villa Nursing Center.
Dorothy Louise Doyle was born on October 17, 1923 in
Bartlesville at her parents' home at 524 S. Choctaw.
She was the daughter of Mike J. and Clara Belle
(Bailey) Doyle. She was raised in Bartlesville where
she attended Jefferson School, Central Jr. High and
College High School. She graduated with the College
High Senior Class of 1941.
After high school graduation, Dorothy became
employed with the Bartlesville College (downtown)
and also Bartlesville Stationery. After that she
began her 22-year career with Phillips Petroleum
Company before her retirement.
On March 19, 1949, Dorothy and Doyle Ross Glatfelder
were united in marriage in Bartlesville where they
made their home. Doyle was employed with Cities
Service. They were married for 55 years before Doyle
preceded her in death. Dorothy continued to make her
home in Bartlesville after his death.
Dorothy was a longtime member of First United
Methodist Church, Bartlesville. She also volunteered
with the Bartlesville Historical Society and she
enjoyed learning about her family genealogy. After
retiring from Phillips, Dorothy volunteered with the
Jane Phillips Medical Center for 30+ years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in
Dorothy's name be made to Bartlesville First Church
(formerly First United Methodist Church), 4715 Price
Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
Come and go visitation will be held on Tuesday and
Wednesday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore &
Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Family will
be present to greet friends on Tuesday from
6:00-8:00 PM.
Services (Mausoleum side) will be held on Wednesday,
March 23, at 2:00 PM in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold
Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
