Robert E. (Bob) Goode (Bartlesville, OK) passed away at his home Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Bob and his identical twin brother Richard C. (Dick) Goode were born in Alva, OK on November 2, 1926, to A. L. (Leo) and Ethel (Stowe) Goode. They lived in Watonga, OK where they attended elementary school until February 1938. His parents moved to a farm west of Geary, OK where he finished elementary school at Pleasant Ridge. They attended Geary High School where they were active in varsity baseball, football, and wrestling. They graduated in May 1945.
Bob enlisted in the US Navy in December 1945 and went through training in San Diego, CA, and was assigned to the USS Cumberland Sound (a seaplane tender converted to a laboratory ship). He was stationed in the Marshall Islands, near Bikini, where the atomic bomb tests were held. In 1947 the ship returned to San Diego where he was stationed. He received an honorable discharge in October 1947.
Bob attended Hills Business University in Oklahoma City, graduating in 1949. He was employed by S&J Supply Company, a wholesale paint and supply company, as an accountant. He and Marcia Ann Cook were married in Oklahoma City, OK on September 23, 1950. They made their home in Oklahoma City until September 1952. They moved to Bartlesville, OK where he started his career with Phillips Petroleum Company in the Treasury Department. Bob lost his twin brother on December 12, 1952, as a result of an oil field accident in Duncan, OK. Bob transferred to Phillips Chemical Company in October 1966, where assignments took him throughout the US and Europe. He was assigned the responsibility of Phillips Chemical Company's Alcohol and Drug Program in 1978 and became a certified counselor. He retired in August 1985.
Following his retirement, he was associated with Habitat for Humanity in 1986 and 1987. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, woodworking and Masonic work.
He has two children: Richard (Dick) Goode, living in Keller, TX with his wife, Christie (Clark), and a daughter, Lori Ann Goode May, living in Owasso, OK, with her husband, Tony. He has four grandchildren, Jessica Goode, Dustin May, Tori May Leiszler, and Clark Goode, and three great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by two living siblings: brother, Alfred W. (Buck) Goode (Tulsa, OK), and sister, Mary Arthel (Artie) Neff (Bartlesville, OK), and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ethel Ailene Goode, his wife, Marcia, his twin, Dick Goode, brothers, Jimmy Dale Goode, Jerry Dean Goode, Arthur Max Goode, Albert C. (Bill) Goode, and sister, Dixie Lee Goode Vaira.
Bob had many close friends, especially at his home of fourteen years in Green Country Village, and his Masonic Lodge brothers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Bob had wonderful memories interviewing children for admittance to the hospital, and escorting children to the Shriner's Circus.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5th at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at East Cross Church in Bartlesville, 820 South Madison Blvd., with Reverend Chad Perceful officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Bartlesville. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
