Hugh Monroe Farmer, 91, of Bartlesville, passed away Tuesday in Bartlesville.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Tallgrass Estates Chapel with Rev. Greg Tener officiating.
Interment rites will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home.
Hugh was born
November 17, 1926 in Amarillo, Texas to Otto Monroe and Irene Bell Farmer. He
graduated from the
of
Texas
with
a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. Hugh was a
Korean
War
Veteran,
retired as a
Lieutenant Colonel from the United States
Army
Reserves.
He worked for many years with the U.S. government in the
Economic Development
Administration in Austin, Texas, and eventually became the Under Secretary for
the
Department of Congress in Washington D.C.
After retiring, Hugh was active in
his community of Lago Vista, Texas, serving as a City Councilman for 16 years,
and then became a Judge. He was very active as a deacon at the Travis Oaks
Baptist church in Lago Vista.
He was a kind and loving husband and Father.
