Bill was born January 12, 1927 in
Eureka, South Dakota, to William H, and Emma Dennis,
and was the eldest of seven children. He served in
the Army during World War II, then attended South
Dakota State on the G. I. bill. His chemistry degree
was put to use first teaching high school chemistry,
then at Phillips Petroleum Company, where he was one
of the original employees of Applied Automation,
specializing in gas chromatography.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three
brothers, and two sisters,
He is survived by his
wife, Ruby, with whom he recently celebrated sixty
years of marriage, He is also survived by son Bill,
of Bartlesville, daughter, Shawn, of Austin, Texas,
son-in-law, Paul, and granddaughters Claire and
Leah, Bill leaves behind his sister Susanne,
sister-in-law Dorothy, and many nieces and nephews,
who will all miss his dry humor and skill with a
camera.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery,
following a graveside service at 10 a.m. on
Wednesday January 20. Visitation will be available
at Stumpff Funeral Home on January 19 from 10 a.m.
till 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that
contributions be made to either Elder Care at 1223
Swan Dr., Bartlesville 74006, or to The Journey Home
hospice at 3406 SE Kentucky St., Bartlesville 74006.
