Dorothy "Mammy" (Holland) Demory of Lovington died Monday August 20, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Dorothy was born April 6, 1931 in Cox City, OK to Thomas R. and Faye Shelton Holland. She was 81.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in the First Christian Church of Lovington and Internment will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, OK. Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Stevens Funeral Home of Lovington, NM.
Dorothy married Lloyd Demory on December 21, 1949 in Dewey, OK and they made their home in Beeville, TX. They moved back to the Dewey, OK area in the early 1950's. Her husband preceded her in death in 1962 and she moved to Lovington, NM in 1966. Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Stars in Dewey, OK and she enjoyed playing pool, going to the horse races and singing.
Dorothy is survived by 2 sons: Lloyd Demory Jr. and wife Denise of Fort Worth, TX and Stephen Demory of Lovington, NM; 1 Daughter: Janet L. Carson and husband Ron of Lovington, NM 1 brother: Tom. R. Holland Jr. of Bartlesville, OK 10 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son: Danny Demory, 1 Grandson Cole M. Jennings and 1 Granddaughter Tabatha Faye Altstatt.
