Mavis Clopp, 87, of Bartlesville, passed away on June 2, 2021 at Bartllesville Health and Rehap Community after her battle with colon cancer and a stroke.

Mavis was born on October 31, 1933 in the Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Mose Cunningham and Irene (Southerland) Cunningham. She spent her early years attending Limestone School. She joined her sister, Norma and her Mother and others at school working in the Victory Garden that helped feed their rural area. Her after school activities at the family’s horse ranch east of town was to tend to the small animals, which she loved. She treasured the fun and food while attending many family events throughout the years with her grandma, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Her most memorable family vacation was to the west coast and seeing the ocean for the first time. Later, her family moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas for a few years then moved back to Bartlesville, where she loved to babysit on weekends for family and friends to make her “mad money”. She graduated with the College High School Class of 1952. Then attended Secretarial School in Tulsa. She worked in Bartlesville at Cities Service from 1953 to 1955. Mavis married Clinton Lee Clopp in 1955. The couple liked to dance and joined other couples to attend events where a live band was playing. They were longtime Bartlesville residents. To this union 4 children were born. As an active homemaker, Mavis enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and cooking along with family camping and fishing trips. She helped with the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and holiday school parties and fund raisers.

In addition to her parents, Mavis was preceded in death by her sister, Norma West; son, David Clopp; grandson, Lee Offitt; and son-in-law Flint Kyler.

She is survived by her children: Pam Widener, Janine Kyler, and Lisa Clark (Mike). Five Grandchildren : T.J. Widener, Michelle Bell, Joe Kyler, LaTrisha Dowell (Matthew), Matthew Clark (Diana). Ten Great-Grandchildren : Kenley, Kamry , James Jr, Michael, Coleman, Shelby, Josiah, Grace, Avery, and Haylee. One sister Kay Reynolds (Jim)

A private family grave side service will be held on June 7 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elder Care, 1223 Swan Drive, Bartlesville, OK 74006
