Loyd
Chesser, 86, retired restaurateur, passed away at 2:25
pm on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Bartlesville, OK.
Loyd was born May 8, 1930 in Olustee, Oklahoma to
parents William "Cap" Chesser and Julia (Ince) Chesser.
On May 8, 1954 Loyd married Marguerite Marie McEuin in
Ponca City, OK. The couple moved to Bartlesville in
1956. In 1966 they purchased Taco Hut restaurant. They
also owned and operated Chesser's Fried Chicken and the
Flame Restaurant. They had a total of seven Taco Hut's,
eventually changing the name to Taco Village. Loyd was
active in the business until 2012. Loyd loved people. He
was a story teller, and his greatest joy was to make
someone smile or laugh.
Loyd is survived by his children Loyd D. Chesser and
wife Jaque of Houston, Texas. Jeff L. Chesser and wife
Janel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Rick N. Chesser and
wife Vickie of Kansas, Oklahoma and Brenda Jones and
husband Phillip of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Grandchildren
Crystal, Doug, Kevin, Rhianna, Rowdy, and Ashley; Great
grandchildren, Zachary, Kasey, Jaydon, Lillie and Noah;
one brother Leroy Chesser and wife Betty of Mustang,
Oklahoma; girlfriend Shirley Dyer.
The Chesser family will receive guest 5 pm – 7 pm,
Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Stumpff Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 10 am Tuesday, July 26,
2016 at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with internment to
follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville,
Oklahoma.
