"Sammie" Georgia (Kerby) Clingenpeel, 90, of Bartlesville, gained her angel wings on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Sammie was born February 8, 1935, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, to Guila Ann (Mills) and adoptive father William Kerby. She was an only child and graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1952. After graduation, she began working as a bookkeeper and then later went to work for the Social Security Administration for more than 20 years. She also worked part-time as a florist for Tom Ward Florist.

Sammie married Jim Clingenpeel in August 1953 in Pawhuska and they enjoyed 63 years of loving marriage before Jim passed away on May 10, 2017. They have one son, J. Alan Clingenpeel. The family loved fishing, camping, and traveling. Many trips were made to national parks with friends and family.

Sammie was a longtime volunteer with several community organizations, including Oak Park Community Association, Oak Park United Methodist Church, Green Country Lions Club, Elder Care, and Pilot Club of Bartlesville. She and Jim moved their family to the Oak Park community in 1964, and Sammie fell in love with the area. She advocated for improvements to help Oak Park by helping organize efforts for Panther Playground and volunteering at Oak Park Methodist Church. She believed that volunteering and helping others is the rent you pay for time on earth.

Sammie was a caregiver. She took care of her parents, Rich and Guila Johnson; her husband's parents, Hershel and Leona Detrick; her sister-in-law, Pat Jones, and many others. Food was her love language and you never left her house hungry. She would often say, "Would you like something to eat? Do you want more?" If she caught you saying something mean, her rebuke would be, "Is that true, kind, or necessary?" She always had a heart for others and will truly be missed by her family and her community.

Sammie is survived by her son, J. Alan Clingenpeel and his wife Lisa Cline; four grandchildren, William Clingenpeel and wife Katie, Guthrie Clingenpeel and wife Lauren, Lindsay Sellers and husband Shawn, and Casey Cline; 10 great-grandchildren, Gideon, Justus, Mara, Anna, Elena, Meredith, Amos, Elias, Resi, and Astrid.

Sammie's family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Visitation will also be held that same day from 10-8.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Oak Park United Methodist Church with Pastor Tasha Hollopeter officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Journey Home, 900 NE Washington Bartlesville, OK 74006.

Services are under the direction of Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
