Virginia Lee Byrd, 92, passed away on Aug. 7, 2018 at her daughter and
son-in-law’s home in Bartlesville.
Virginia’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker
Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, on Fri., Aug. 10,
from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will also be held that day from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 11, at the Davis Family
Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel, with Pastor Brian Fuller officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel.

Virginia Lee Byrd, 92, passed away on Aug. 7, 2018 at her daughter and
son-in-law's home in Bartlesville.
She was born July 17, 1926, to Wesley Banks and Bertha Pearl Behmer. She was
raised in Bartlesville and attended grade school and junior high here, then she
moved to Maryvale, MO, and graduated high school there. She moved back to
Bartlesville and met Robert B. Reed. They married Feb. 5, 1945 and had two
daughters Becky Dick and Lawana Reese, both of Bartlesville. Mom lost her
husband in April 1962; 13 years later, she married Jesse Ballard and received
four wonderful step children, Mickey, Jessie, Eddie and Connie.
She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for
27 years before retiring in 1978. She enjoyed being home, working on the farm,
cooking, scrapbooking and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed
playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved them all very
much. They were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Dick and her husband John of Bartlesville, and Lawana Reese of Bartlesville, her step children, and lots of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 18 siblings, husbands and a very special friend Ray Brink. Mom, you'll be greatly missed by all. Love Lawana and Becky.
