Duane Bersche passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018.Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 4th at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor William J. Shupe officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military
rites will be presented by American Legion Post #105 Honor
Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown
Funeral Home.
Duane Leroy Bersche was born December 8, 1930 in Plymouth,
Nebraska to George and Hulda (Unger) Bersche. He married
Twila Belle Grimsley on February 10, 1952 in Blackwell, OK.
Duane served his country in the US Army receiving his
Honorable Discharge on February 19, 1954. He started his
career at Phillips Petroleum Co. on June 21, 1955 and
retired on October 1, 1985 with over 30 years of dedicated
service. Duane enjoyed doing artwork including sculpting,
painting, wood carving and writing. As an outdoorsman, he
enjoyed hunting and fishing. Duane was a deep thinker and
strongly valued his faith.
Duane is survived by two sons, Greg Bersche and wife
Kimberly of Skiatook and Mark Duane Bersche and Lori Hutson
of Barnsdall; two daughters, Vickie and husband Craig
Sprague of Bartlesville and Gail and husband Rick Barringer
of Friendswood, TX. He was blessed with six grandchildren:
Kyle, Sondra, Amanda, Jeremy, Kendra, and Jake along with
three great-grandchildren Tyler, Kaylee and Paisley. Duane
is also survived by his sister Helen Gorrell, brother-in-law
LeRoy Grimsley, sister-in-law Dorothy Brown, numerous
nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents George and Hulda
Bersche, his wife Twila Bersche and brother Richard Bersche.
