Rufus Bandy was preceded in death by his wife Edith on March 29, 2009, and his daughter Gail Bandy Nickel on April 18, 2015.
He served in both the end of
WWII and also in Korea. They moved to Bartlesville
in 1948 when he went to work in the legal department of
the Phillips Petroleum Company where he retired in the
1980's. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather
and enjoyed life till the end.
Rufus is survived by three sons, Dr. Rufus Bandy and his
wife Brenda of Manhattan Kansas; Bill Wayland Bandy and
his wife Lali of Houston, Texas; Scott Bandy and his
wife Pam of Tulsa. He has nine grandchildren: David
Nickel and his wife Shannon of Bartlesville; Brian
Nickel and his wife Aime of Australia; Carrie McDonald
and her husband Ryan of Austin, Texas; Cori Lyon and her
husband Mike of Tulsa; Evyn Wills and her husband Ryan
of Tulsa; and Brett, Nick, Matt and Ann Bandy, all of
Manhattan, Kansas and 12 great grandchildren.
