Posted by: Ann Weber

BARTLESVILLE EXAMINER-ENTERPRISE
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Audrey Mae (Bonham) Alexander graduated to her heavenly home on the morning of January 6, 2017 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, to see her Jesus face to face, and to be reunited with her husband.

Audrey did her "patriotic duty" by marrying her soldier, Paul Alexander, on January 21, 1945, a marriage that lasted for 70 years. She dropped out of high school to work for Phillips Petroleum Company until World War II ended. She then began a career in retail sales at Pate's Shoe Store in Bartlesville. Her specialty was corrective children's shoes. She ended her career at Edward's in downtown Bartlesville.

Audrey is survived by two children, Fred Alexander and his wife, Diane of Merced, California and Paula Alexander of Wichita, Kansas; a granddaughter, Jennifer Huffman and her husband, Dustin Huffman; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emily, and Caleb.

Audrey's life was one of service. She was a Girl Scout volunteer and a Sunday School teacher. She and Paul worked with Meals on Wheels and the Concern Center.
Audrey was not all work. She enjoyed painting Paul's wooden craftings, tole painting, "Pretty Punch", and traveling. She and Paul made it to 49 states, only missing Alaska due to illness in the family. One of Audrey's most treasured trips was the one she and Paul took to Hawaii in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary.
Audrey had a full and happy life and she will be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Stumpff's Funeral, Home in Bartlesville. A graveside service and burial will take place immediately following, at Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Journey Home, Inc. 340 SE Kentucky, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
