Clare (Bick) Abeyta, 71, of Bartlesville passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, OK. A Scripture Service will be held Wednesday, 7 p.m. in the Walker-Brown Chapel. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church with Father Festus Maliwa officiating. Final committal rights will be accorded Mrs. Abeyta in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.

Clare was born April 25, 1938 in Chicago, IL to John Casper and Agnes Helen (Maher) Bick. She graduated from St. Anne School in Barrington, IL and high school from Convent of the Sacred Heart, Lake Forest, IL. She attended and graduated from Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart, Purchase, NY.

On January 22, 1966 she married Alfredo Lionel Abeyta at Fort Mason Chapel, The Presidio in San Francisco, CA. Clare and Al moved to Bartlesville in 1974, where they raised their children and became involved in many areas of the community. Clare welcomed everyone with open arms, always had a smile on her face and was eager to share the latest news of her children's activities and accomplishments.

Clare was an active member of St. John Catholic Church, Meals on Wheels, Hillcrest Country Club, Service League of Bartlesville, OK Mozart, Questers Nellie Johnstone Chapter and past member of the Bartlesville Tennis Association.

Clare is survived by her husband, Al, of the home, her son, David Edward Abeyta and wife Dorothy Genevieve Caldwell of Austin, TX; and her daughter, Katharine Agnes Abeyta Uhrin and husband Mark Christopher Uhrin of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Jessalyn Nicole Uhrin, Emily Elizabeth Uhrin, Nathan Reed Uhrin and Kennedy Clare Uhrin all of McKinney, TX; brother, John Karl Bick of Boise, ID; and sister, Katharine Bick Merritt, Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

Contributions in her memory can be made to St. John Catholic School, 8th and Keeler, Bartlesville, OK 74003.
