Jewel Alaine Thomas, 50, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away at her residence in Nowata, Oklahoma, on March 25, 2024. She was born on July 31, 1973, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Jackie Wayne Huddleston and Mary Lou (Stout) Huddleston.
Jewel and her family moved to the Nowata area at a young age, and she has been in the area since that time. Jewel worked as a certified medical assistant. For the past 5 years, she has been working at the Hays House. Jewel took great pride in her work and enjoyed her job very much. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her dog, Emma. Jewel will be missed by her family, friends, and patients at the Hays House.
Jewel is preceded in death by her father: Jackie Wayne Huddleston, and both of her grandmothers.
Those left to cherish the memory of Jewel include her mother: Mary Huddleston; her brothers: Jack Wesley Huddleston, Marshall Wayne Huddleston, and Robert Randall Stout and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A traditional tribal twenty-four wake is planned for Friday, April 5, 2024, starting at 8:00 p.m. until the funeral service the next day at 10:30 a.m. at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will be at the Fall Leaf Cemetery in Copan, Oklahoma. After the burial, there will be a gathering of friends and family at the Delaware Tribal Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
