Josephine "Josie" Owers passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Spencer officiating and remarks by Dr. Roland Booker. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Josephine Mariam Owers was born January 24, 1936 in Argyle, MI to Christian and Lavinia (Morse) Labor. Josie was a graduate of Bad Axe High School in Bad Axe, MI. She married Harold "Tex" Owers on January 19, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Josie was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, bluegrass festivals and trips to Silver Dollar City, MO. Josie loved spending time with her family, and never hesitated to tell everyone how smart and talented her grandchildren are.
Josie is survived by her daughter, Kristi and husband Gregory Booker and was blessed with two grandchildren; Rachael and Grant Booker all of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Labor of Bad Axe, MI, numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, Harold "Tex" Owers.
