Donald "Don" Wayne Offutt, 61, of Dewey, died at his home at 3:10 P.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 following a short illness. Funeral services for Don will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Aaron Lawrence officiating. Funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the Dewey Little League, c/o Dewey Recreation Association, P.O. Box 462, Dewey, Oklahoma 74029.
Don was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on August 10, 1953 the son of Lloyd Lee Offutt and Fannie Marie (Ashmon) Offutt. He grew up and received his education in Dewey and graduated from Dewey High School in 1972.
He was a lifetime resident of the Dewey area and in his younger years had been active as a professional bull fighter and rodeo clown. He had also worked in the oil field and at Superior Casting. In 1998 he became the owner/operator of Offutt Trucking Company in Dewey. He was married to Caroline Taylor in Bartlesville on May 21, 1982 and they have continued their home in Dewey. He liked to hunt and fish and had his own leather shop.
Don is survived by his wife Caroline of the home, one son, Justin Offutt and wife Desiree of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, one brother, Jim Offutt and wife Brenda of Wann, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Tristen and Colbie and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Lloyd Lee Offutt in 1982.
